SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT: Dr. Todd Shatynski


Dr. Todd Shatynski is a sports medicine specialist at Capital Region Orthopaedics. His practice at the Bone and Joint Center focuses on the nonsurgical treatment of injuries and focuses on the athlete in all of us young and old. He is trained in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound for the diagnosis of injuries and the guidance of injections. Dr. Shatynski has extensive experience with a wide variety of conditions and cutting-edge therapies and techniques, including orthobiologic regenerative medicine such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections and bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) stem cell injections. He is often involved in teaching residents and sports medicine fellows and is a team physician for Triathlon Australia, Ironman Lake Placid, the Mohawk Hudson Marathon, University of Albany, College of Saint Rose, and Columbia High School.

Dr. Shatynski has extensive experience in a variety of sports but as a former college runner at NC State University and Guilderland High School and a current triathlete, he has a special interest in care of endurance sports athletes. He has completed multiple marathons (with a 2:39 personal best) and nearly 100 triathlons including multiple Ironmans (with a 9:38 personal best) and Ironman Hawaii.
