Thursday Night Training at Warner Lake
Each Thursday night during the summer we hold training sessions at Warner Lake in East Berne.
This is a chance to practice you swim, bike, and run, as well as work on transitions. Athletes are welcome to choose which event you want to do (e.g., swim only - then run, bike only, swim only, etc.).
We will from time to time offer special events on Thursday nights. See our calendar to view special event dates.
There are ONLY TWO LOCATIONS BTC members are allowed to park at during Thursday night training sessions. The first is the grassy area across from the swim entrance and exit. This area fills quickly. The second parking spot is near the junction of 157A and Warners Lake Road (still 157A) in the gravel area of Warner Hayden Road. Please use caution when walking from this secondary parking.
PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON ANY SIDE STREETS. The roads are narrow and we do not want to create a hazards for our hosts (the community of Warners Lake) or potential first responders. Please consider carpooling!
Please familiarize yourself with OUR PROCEDURES before you arrive. Certified lifeguards monitor the open water swim, however you should be comfortable swimming 350 yards in open water before attempting this portion of the course. ANSI approved Helmets are mandatory for all riders on the bike ride. I-PODS and earphones are not permitted on the bike and discouraged on the run due to traffic on the road.
Open-water swimming starts at 6:00 PM. The swim course is approximately 1/2 mile. All swimmers must be out of the water by 7:30 PM! All athletes must be off the bike and run courses by 8:00 PM. Volunteers and board members don't leave until all athletes check back in to the parking area so be respectful and get back by 8:00 PM!
